It has been too long! The past two months have flown by and 2014 is off to a busy start. I’m teaching two courses this semester at the University of Houston and I’m trying to fall into a new work rhythm. It’s exciting to teach, but adding a second class has meant a lot of additional prep work. So, I’ve been away for a bit longer than I’d like. I’ve missed the blog and definitely want to check back in to this online community.
To ease back into posting, I’ve got a professional development opportunity to share. The Texas Pediatric Palliative Care Consortium is hosting a conference “Multidimensional Symptom Management for Children with Complex Conditions” on February 21, 2014 at Texas Children’s Hospital. Multiple palliative care teams from around the state will present, and child life will be represented. So, if you are interested in learning more about supporting families through palliative care, check it out:
I’m always happy to share child life events here at prescriptionforplay, so please feel free to send me information on conferences and workshops that are relevant for child life professionals and students!
